Forgot how many mods I put on that 700 until I started looking at the 1000 needs.
I did not know how much more of a machine the 1000 is over the 700 other than the low gear.
Was flopping between the trail and rmax xt-r but I am glad I went with the Honda bench seats and noise level were the tie breaker.

I also went from a 700 to a trail 1000, couldn't be happier. To reduce cabin noise and heat I would recommend a cat delete. best bang for the buck mod in my opinion

Removing the cat?
I have started with the dust issue waiting on the back screen and weather stripping doors and other places the dust comes in from.
Heat was on the list when I do the 100 mile service.

There are a couple of threads here and a youtube video on how to do a cat delete. Read everything before you start.
I found that air was coming in around the instrument cluster. A little silicone solved that problem.
There are a couple of ways to reduce or even stop the air coming in around the shifters. The more you read here the more solutions you will find for issues that you haven't run into yet

Made it to the 100 mile mark tonight 3 days of riding so I could do it. All I know is no driving until I get the service done and the dust under control. Like the scene in the good the bad and the ugly where they get picked up to see angel eyes.
