Took my Pioneer 520 on a camping trip this weekend. I did about 40 miles of trail riding along a Ranger 900 and a RZR 900 trail Fox edition. Each of the three vehicles excelled in their own way. Ranger (on 28” tires) was a beast through deep mud but not good in the woods or tight turns. Just too big. The RZR (stock) was clearly the sportiest of the bunch, but a one trick pony. The reality is that I will probably get one riding trip in per year. For the rest of the year I need something that can help me develop a parcel of land I purchased in the mountains. That’s where my Pioneer 520 (on 26” tires) excels. It can get me to places long past where the trail ends. It was the best of the trio at creek crossings and steep slow climbs.
The surprising thing is the RZR owner admitted he couldn’t keep up with me through the smoother twisty trails!! The Pioneer definitely impressed me, as well as the Po-Po owners with its nimble handling. Im still extremely impressed by this little unit and happy with my purchase.
Ps. Notice the smoke coming out of the front end of the Ranger 😂
