I used "Diamond Soft Tiles" inside airbox to isolate the wide open throttle sound. and it makes a good result!
i would say 50% quieter?

let me know if someone tried that?

I have been dragging my feet, been meaning to order some insulation for under the seat to keep down on the heat because I drive slow and it builds up.

Not hijacking get your thread, but I LOVE this idea, I will order this tonight. Hoping I can order both things I need from the same place. Thanks.

I didn't realize the intake was a source of a lot of noise.
It really makes that much difference?

it's makes difference, but now its the passenger side air inlet that's makes sound!

i would replace the factory passenger side intake, by a flexible hose, to take air under the hood.

like that:
air intake noise

This is an interesting mod...I'll have to think about it and see if I can come up with any "cons" to this idea. There is always going to be noise. I installed a snorkel and it just moved the intake noise up higher. But I kinda like the intake sound, but that is just me..
