P700 P700 vs p500

Which one is better to make a mud bog rig out of the p500 or p700???? The p5 got Paddel shifter with extra low 1st gear. The p700 has bigger engine but no low... I have p700 an love it but kinda like the p500 but never drove it just read bout it

I say 500 with lift and set of tall mud tires. Low range is awesome and has nothing on the 700.

Heck yea just watched it talk about lil engine that could... Lol I see now u can hold those gears longer on p5 an it seems to help power wise thanks for the reply!!

Something is coming late summer. Think it is a current model update. Word is the 700 & 500 both are expected to pick up auto mode.
There is a sport coming... My guess is a spring 2017 announcement.

Sweet!!! Can't wait!! They need to make pure sport jus to shut that rubber band gear grinding rzr up! Lol as far as the p5 an p7 some upgrades would make em even better, it's already nice to know I'll never have to change a belt on my p7 transmission all the way!!!!! I tell my ( gayzr)buddy's they'll have enough money in belts to have 2 sxs. Lol Honda all the way!!!!!!

Interesting info... so you think they will put a dct in the 500? I think the existing trans wouldnt work too well in auto mode, it clangs and bangs pretty bad going through the gears like it is.

Honda does seem to have faith in the DCT. The 500 from the Rubicon might slip right in.

I didn't pick up the 500 because lack of auto. This may change my mind!

Interesting. I have both. The only thing either of them need is one more gear. Both different machines for different purposes.Never had the 500 mudding. The 500 is geared low but it don't have a locker. The 700 has a locker in the front but is geared much much higher in 1st gear. I've never put bigger tires on either but I'd mod the 500 because of gearing and weight if I was trying. Mud, hills and woods I'd spend money on my 500 but they don't need it. I use them for what they were designed. For work and family the 700 does the trick. The 500 paddle shifters are great. Hope I didn't confuse you. If I had to build either one of them it would be the 500.

Thanks for the info!! Was kinda thinking the 500 would be better, I really wish they would put that 700 engine in that lil pioneer with them paddle shifters that would be cool then u would have plenty of power an higher top speed... Not that the p5 ain't good the way it is that's jus somthen I'd think would be cool.....
