From 2011, since theres an eruption happening there now. I dug it up.
Had to shrink the 300MP tiff file to a lower quality jpg not sure how much detail will make it through.

In 2009 you could hike across a part of the caldera that wasn't very active.

This is a picture of the coast of the Big Island, the cliffs are over 800' at the water.
Bit of 4wd trivia, there is a paved road just to the left of me that they have/had a cop at 24/7 to require true 4WD and a long wheelbase because its a 40%grade hill down to the Waipio Valley. Found this out in 09' so when we went in 11' we rented a Rubicon.
They shot the dry land scenes from WaterWorld here.

Waipio
To prove I drove the road cause pics or it didn't happen.

Are you from Colorado? Or all over? I lived in Vail Colorado for the last 7 years and just moved home to IL. I never believed in Bigfoot till I saw one. It was near Lost Lake in a bowl on the north side of red table mountain. East of Rifle, CO, just south of the town of gypsum. Backpacking alone, middle of the night sighting. Never been that scared. Solo hiked before that and after that many times and never once felt scared or weirded out by being alone. But seeing that beast, I'll never forget it.
