Hi
I'm looking at purchasing a tent trailer to go camping in a couple remote areas and was wondering if any has pulled a tent trailer with thier pioneer. It's a 2006 starcraft 10rt. Weight is 1966 lbs dry. I'm going to be putting some gear in the trailer and box of the pioneer. Just wondering if it's going to be to much weight or should be good?

Definitely use low range and make sure the tires are inflated to the upper range of recommended pressure. We pull our 6.5 x 12 foot utility trailer a lot with our P1K-3. Sometimes with 2 round bales of hay on it, between 2 and 3 thousand pounds. It has 15” wheels and tires on it and we are usually on pretty level land or a gravel road.

What kind of terrain are you looking to do this in?

Mountains?
Sand?
Mud?
Dirt/gravel/forest service roads?
Snow?

Unknown trails?

Mostly dirt /gravel /service roads.

One place I'm going has about 1/4 mile of Rocky terrain little mud then little sand when u hit the Beach. Which is where I'll be setting it up.

When I used to have my ice house, (7x14 3500 lbs) I’d pull it on the ice all the time without a dolly with my P1k5. If I fished the pond by my house, I’d pull it in high range in 4wd (roads are ice covered) in manual mode at about 25 to 30 mph for the 2.5 miles from my house.

Keep the rpm’s up, use manual mode and high range if your on a maintained road. If your going off the beaten path a bit then use low range and keep the rpm’s up and use manual mode.

The club store does offer a trailer wiring kit (4 flat) if you feel you need it.

IMO don’t underestimate how much that popup will want to drive your pioneer. I’d pull it in nothing less than 2wd . Be smart with the down shifts and keep plenty of distance around / in front of you.
