Hey guys. I have been working hard with 2 different company's to get these gear lifts produced.

Well it's almost time.

First place is utv solutions. They will be ready in 2 weeks from yesterday according to jeff.
They're making them for the 1000 and 700.

4 inch and 6 inch lifts.
Only 30 percent gear reduction is offered for now. 40 percent reduction in the works for the future.

4 inch lift can use a 12 inch rim with a spacer they offer but 14 inch rim is recommended.

6 inch lift requires a 18 inch rim.

1 year warranty on everything except bearings and seals

When they are ready. I will let everyone know. If you would mention my name. "Chris shadron" when ordering I would appreciate it.

No preorders. Jeff does not like to do that.

Prices will me 2499 for the 4 inch and 2999 for the 6 inch lifts.

The second place is sxs gear. We delivered josh Graves rig about 3 weeks ago for the mock up on his 1000.
He drove 10 hrs from Illinois to flint Michigan ..

These are currently in production.
Will be offered in 4 inch lift.
30 percent reduction
6 Month warranty.
No prices have been set yet.

Please make sure after I let you guys know they're ready. Give my name when ordering. Thanks. I'll will keep everyone up to Date

Any questions. Feel free to ask me.

I'd be all over a portal if it didn't increase the width so much. I've already scratched off the side decals as it is running tight trails lol. Looking forward to seeing the monster builds that are sure to follow.

How much does it widen the rig?

1.5 inches per side.

With running deluxe rims or similar. You should be close to the width of the guys running 0 offset wheels

Good idea. if using these gearboxes, you would want to use a 6-1 wheel.

Can't wait to see somebody start using these.

I am very interested but was thinking. To fit a 30" tire would you still have to buy forward a-arms?

I thought portal's widened things more than 1.5" on each side. That's really not that bad if true.

I widened my P1000 2" on each front corner and 2.5" on the rear two. I could put portals on and go back to 6-1 wheels and no spacers and be the same as I am now.

True, I am in the same boat with 5+2 beadlocks, but I have noticed that the pickings are quite slim for a 6+1 wheel, especially beadlocks.

Is used a 5-2 front and back and ended up using 1" spacers also in the front. I'm using 1.5" in the back. Next time I buy wheels, I would like to use a 4-3 and throw away the spacers.

Anyway, back on topic, I doubt I'll ever own a set of portal boxes but I sure would love to have a set of them. How about we split a set and I run them 6 months out of the year you run them the other 6 months

I don't think I've seen some 7–0 if that's what you're asking.

I had some MSA 3.5-3.5

Someone tell me... If the portals have "a 30% gear reduction", what difference do I experience?
30% higher rpm?
30% more torque?
30% error in odometer?

The above is true if you keep factory size tires. The speedometer may be pretty close to accurate if you have 30" tires.

Basically, if you add larger tires you will lose torque and your speedometer become less accurate. Also, your rpm will drop for any given speed.

The portal boxes will correct these issues and give you a lift and wider stance.

Some people think the extra width is a negative, depends on your needs or wants. Also, it adds leverage to the rotational force that is applied to the A-arms. I have no idea if that force is a problem or not. I'm a little weary of it because I've personally seen three P700's with A-arm mounts tore from the frame. They can be beefed up tough.

I'll have to see someone else buy them before I can consider such a hefty price tag. I don't mud ride much and still use mine for hunting and work purposes, so I don't know how she'd do with 4" of lift.
