Hello - I am planning a trip to Montana/Wyoming this summer, and would appreciate any advice you might have to offer.

We are heading to ride the trails on the big Horn Mountains, bringing our own SxS's, so no rentals are needed. Right now I am looking at Bear Lodge resort in Burgess Junction to stay at.

Lodging and Adventure in the Bighorn Mountains Wyoming- Bear Lodge Resort

I am looking for an additional trail/spot to explore that might be an additional stop. A place to stay is needed - like a resort that I can park the trailer at while we ride and have a place to stay in the evening.

I saw the Boulder Tunnel on a Destination Polaris episode with the ringing rocks - but I understand the tunnel is now closed. Maybe something close to the Butte/Bozeman area?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My family just stayed at Bear Lodge this past august... I might consider wyoming high country lodge instead ( a little more expensive but nothing but positive reviews)...reasons, bear lodge on-site restaurant was mediocre on a good day, we stayed in the loft cabin and it was decent but whole resort is showing its age, recently the area has had a burn( started 2 weeks after we left...most fire was north and east of the resort.) , trails closer to wyoming high country lodge were more scenic, wildlife loop is must do otherwise we didn't see chit! We had a rain day and drove to shell falls area but really wanted to ride crazy woman canyon area! A plated utv can ride on the highway otherwise 14 is no go! We plated through South Dakota painless and cost $57 I believe initially and $35 renewal???

Thanks! I look at the other Lodge - We are still in the planning phase so no reservations have been made yet.
We are plated in WA state - street legal and all, but I am sure I will need to get permits where ever I go.
I really like the ability to access the trails right from the Driveway of the resort - I'll be watching more YouTube tourist videos to see what else is in the area.

Maybe look at Meadowlark Lodge and Deerhaven on Hwy 16 out of Buffalo. Lots of roads and trails in the area, a brewery in Ten Sleep, and you end up in the Bighorn Basin same as going across Hwy 14 out of Sheridan/Dayton, then head north into Montana. Both Bighorn routes have nice areas to ride.
