So we are trying to plan a trip for 2 families. We live in MN and want to load up the rigs and head West to ride. We cannot decide where to go Colorado or Montana. We want to ride around Memorial day if possible but fear that snow may be a problem. We would like to rent a VRBO and utilize it as a trail head so we can stick to riding to our destinations rather than trailering to trail head. ANY AND ALL RECOMENDATIONS APPRECIATED!!

I can’t help you much on that area, but depending on your travel plans you could hit Railroad Buttes or the Black Hills as mid point stop depending on your route.

Montana is quite the haul from Minnesota. You’ll have ~7 hrs in crossing SD alone if you are in the mid to lower part of MN.

Yes sir. It will be 14.5 hours of driving each way.

Scratchgravel Hills had a OHV/UTV trail system on BLM land years ago but was closed to all vehicle travel a few years ago. That is between Helena and Boulder. South of Boulder is a lot of national forest roads and logging trails you can ride.....
