P1000 Removing radiator cap

Is there a best way to remove the radiator cap? I can't hardly get my hands on it with the small access.

Take a pair of slip joint (or other) pliers, upside down, put the handles of the cap. Put a dowel or screwdriver in the jaws and use that as a "wrench" to undo the cap. Many caps require you to push down on the cap before turning.
