Should I use 12,14, or 16 gauge marine wire to wire rocker switches?

This is all relative to the wires use.

For example.
- Switch backlights and ground can be low guage. 18g.
- relay control wires can be low guage. 18g.
- winch control wires can be small guage. 18g.
- all other wires depends on the amps being pulled.
