Where you live I want to elk hunt.

Elk and moose are very plentiful but moose tags are a little tougher. The damn cat and wolves have been reeking havoc on things. No one cares if those go away for sure. There was recently a 5 yo snatched locally by a cat directly from a campfire in front of people. Didn't get far kids ok but still.

It's been '08 since I when to CO and WY. Loved it. Went Elk Hunting at 10000 Ft. Bow Hunting at that. My first love was hunting before the wife and kids came along. People from the East have no clue on the size of this country until you really get out where you go every week.

I use to bow a bit. Haven't been years though I know it sounds lame but I'd rather let it run now. Elk and moose are just cows though. I'd like to go again haven't even been fishing in a bit(I know I know) really do like the area here love the tress and waters but eventually it'll get populated. They are pretty good with logging rules here which ensures things to come for awhile. Everyone assumes we have limitless commodities but time is limited. Hope it'll be here for grandchildren to come

Bow is a great way to hunt I think it makes bring s the odds closer in favor of the animal. At least for me I'm not great with string.

First deer I killed with a bow was 64 yards. Anymore 30 is max. Lost to many deer at ranges longer.

I wouldn't even try 60 yards hunting. If it's not within 45 yards I don't let loose. I'm sure I could get one out to 60-70 yards but it's not worth wounded one. On a coyote I'll try out too 60/70 yards anytime.

Anyone want to car pool? I'll be going from north AL to Chattanooga and up I-75. I can haul two pioneers and it would be nice to split the fuel costs.

Also, I thought about making some stickers if we could name the trip. Anyone got any ideas? Or a design? I'm not creative at all.

At the cost of broad heads, lighted knocks and arrows today the coyote is walking. $40/ shot is high. If you are into tradition dogwood shafts will make you cry.

I wouldn't care one bit. If I'm bow hunting and see a coyote it's getting shot at. If me killing that yote saves even one fawn it's well worth it.

we could call it "THE TRHOUGH TRIP".

A sticker could be an image of the gps track overlaid on a map that shows Royal Blue and Windrock campgrounds, although this might require a larger sticker to make it legible...

Has anyone rented a cabin for Friday night?

Maybe we can all pack in the big one that HondaSXS had at the last takeover? (If available)

I will get my but in gear tomorrow and lay out the possible routes from Royal Blue to Windrock boundary, from the I75 exit 141 there is only 1 real route. From my place there is 2 or 3 other routes that would let us take in the Eternal Flame etc without backtracking at all. I'm good with any starting point but will meet you guys starting from my house I can get to that exit in 30 minutes if I cheat ;)

Do we all agree that we'll meet for a Friday afternoon ride at RB?

Is everyone still good going from RB to WR? Or vice versa?
