I made it down to Hatfield and McCoy trails Feb 20th and rode the Rockhouse Trail. 1st time there. Razman was planning to ride with us but duty called and he had to help with a fire in town.

The ride was great. Temps got up to 80 degrees. Nice day. I have the 2018 P1k5 dlx, so the clutch issue and heat issue with the seat are taken care of already. However, as we rode the back of the seat was uncomfortably hot. Heat also came up between the seats (tween the bottom and the back of the seat) ...with just a t-shirt on the heat went right up the shirt and was, again, uncomfortably HOT. Assuming this is not normal, but wondering if anyone else has noticed this heat.

This also gave us a chance to try out the split window. The idea of the split sounded good but when opened up the air goes to the roof and over our heads. No breeze at all in the cab. Which made the heated seat back even more uncomfortable.

Why do you have a windshield on at 80°?

Should have known the heat issue could not be completely solved by just fixing the lower seat. Both the bilge fan and other heat shield are not honda solutions are they? Rather disappointed with Honda engineers.

Why do you have a windshield on at 80°?

Well, first time riding long trails and I was told the air would hit the lower part, bounce off the top windshield and hit me in the face. Not at all how it worked This newbie has never taken the windshield off, we remedy that next warm day.

Try this first, insulate seat bottom and back of seat. Used a windshield sun shield purchased at Auto Zone$15.00.
Used a pool noodle and wrapped with a lighter weight windshield sun visor all from Dollar Tree $2.00.
Used stainless cable ties to wrap the pool noodle, then placed pool noodle in open cavity behind back of seat.
So far, seems to help the heat issue and can be removed for cold weather.
