I went with the Honda glass and I am very happy with it. I got 15% off from the dealership where I bought the machine and didn't have to pay shipping but I did have to pay NY sales tax (8% grrrrr). Just under $600 total. I think it seals up really well. Took me 30 minutes or so for the initial install by myself but I think it would less than 5 minutes to take it off and another 10 min to put it back on. I was also going to have to have a windshield wiper, so I needed glass.

Another happy Honda glass windshield owner here. We don't get as hot as you do in AZ but then again, I wouldn't want that hot air blowing on me either. I've hit a bunch of limbs that I didn't remember hanging across the trail and so far so good. No scratches or breaks. It's awesome not getting wet or having the cold wind blowing in.

I also have the Honda hard back window. a few rattles and squeaks with that but well worth it.
I do need doors!

Hi Everyone,

Have looked off and on for selecting a windshield for a 2018 1000-5.......not sure if I have seen all of them but there are many on the market and I did not want to spend $500+ and get something that I would not like later on.....so wanted some feedback on what others have purchased or decided not to purchase and why.
Hope to lock into something good soon.

I spent $625 on my Honda glass model for my P-1000. I have many reasons for this, including the fact that it is glass and us durable and is a tight fit. I love it - and never have to worry about scratching. There are some things I'll compromise with, but not this. Oh, and sometimes I run the machine up the road and feel safer behind a sheet of safety glass. Good luck!

I have the Honda two piece poly windshield and love how it looks and fits. I am very happy with it. I recommend it. There is a video on youtube about it. that you can check out.

How much?
Depends on your local dealer, you can not buy direct from manufacture. I got the 3 piece, top, back, and windshield for about $1500. Don't remember the exact amount for windshield, but was between $400-500. I checked with several different shops and saved nearly $500 on the combo from the cheapest to the highest.

I have the SATV flip and love it. It's poly but have had no issues with scratching, i treat it like poly while cleaning also. I do watch out for low limbs and avoid them when possible also. I didn't like the flimsy ness at the latch so I added a pc of thin, 1/8"x 1 1/2" aluminum angle the full width and mounted it to the side mounts and fastened the latch through it and it's now one hand operation. I went with poly because I wanted one that would open and I have a friend in the glass business and figured if I had issues with scratching it could be replaced with glass cheap.

I have owned the Honda 2 piece and now I own the Super ATV Flip - I am very pleased with and prefer the SATV windshield. It takes a little more tweaking to put on but it is so nice to flip up the windshield and get it out of the way to get some wind or just to get the glare off ya sometimes. I also think the SATV has better optics than the honda and can confirm the Honda lower is not hard coated and scratches easy.
Just purchased the SATV flip up windshield. Now I need a hard top for my 1000-5. What tops will fit with the SATV flip up? I want to buy a hard top for the entire cage but only install the halp over the front seats. Anyone have the SATV flip up and a hard top that fits.

With the factory hard top you have to either get the top for the entire cage or the top for the front seats and it is plastic. I would like to get a metal top that bolts together in the center. Thanks for the info about the OEM top.
