Just wondering if anyone has run into a shackle tab that has a radius on the attachment side, so that you can weld it to a brush guard?
I'm looking for a shackle tab with a radius that would match the radius of the Pioneer's brush guard. I'd like to put a shackle up there so I can pull myself out of a pickle with my winch - run it out to a tree with a snatch block on it then come back to the Pioneer for 2x pulling power.
See the attached pic. I found one on eBay but its radius doesn't match the tubing, and the hole doesn't match either.
Right now I'm just wrapping a strap around and through the brush guard, then attaching to that.
What's everyone else doing?

I can't speak for the 700 but on the 1000 I wouldn't trust the brush guard for a pull like that. I mean it'll work but you'll probably bend the tube! I'd try to find a flat part of the bumper and put a reinforced plate behind bumper attached to shackle tab. Or hook on frame........my 2 cents

Ya I pulled mine off and built my own bumper. I would no way weld a tab on that thing and expect to not ripe it right back out the first time you hook up to it. The material is very thin. Might work better to just buy a wide nylon lifting strap. But even then exspect to bend the brush guard

What winch mount do you have?
If it is one in which the winch is mounted under the mount, upside down, you can bolt a 2” receiver mount on top.
check out KFI p/n 101240. Bolts on top of KFI 700 mount 101150. Slip a 2” shackle mount in the receiver and your done.

Cool thanks, I'll look into it. I believe it's a KFI mount.

As long as your winch is mounted under your winch mount it should work. The KFI 2” receiver mount has a 3” x 4-7/8” bolt pattern, same as most winches.
You will sandwich your winch mount with the receiver on top and the winch on the bottom with the same 4 bolts.

Thanks! I have a KFI winch and mount, and will look at that receiver mount. I don't have much need for pushing a trailer around backwards, but a shackle up front tied right to the frame seems to make some sense there.

I went ahead and ordered the front receiver mount. I don't have the desire to fab up something completely custom when this mount and a receiver shackle will do the trick.
I'll pay for it this spring by offering to back down boats at the boat ramp for $5 with my rig.

I put on a shackle in the front hitch receiver. Works ok, but looks meh. I'm leaving it be for now; we'll see if it grows on me.

I just mounted my winch today with that 2” receiver on top. My winch hook fits in the slot in the top face of the 2” receiver so that is an option for a double pull with a snatch block.
