P1000 Solar panel??

Maybe a crazy thought but for those of us that may use the pioneer for a beach stereo has anyone used a solar panel to help keep auxiliary battery charged when not running? Thinking about mounting one on top of hard top. Pros and cons please. Tia.

You'd certainly need a super shield for your roof mounted solar panel if you ever ride in the woods.

Hey guy I know this is an old thread but I didn’t like that it seemed I needed to put my Honda on a trickle charge after every use. So I did just this I mounted a small solar panel on the roof and it works great now I have gone months without have to plug her in. And with how it’s mounted haven’t had any problems with low hanging branches it seems to charge while in the shop under my led shop light as well. Let me know what you think

hi ive got a 700-4 I mounted a solar panel on the rear flat portion of my roof put a regulator on under hood for spare battery it isn't wired into machine its just charged by solar use it for 52 in light bar and charging port for usb for battery spotlight had this for 1 1/2 yrs now no problem people see solar panel and ask about it

When camping in the Idaho wilderness with my Husky bush plane, I used a couple of flexible solar panels bungeed temporarily to the wing. Plenty of power to keep stuff charged. I mention this as it's an alternative to mounting them permanently on the roof where they would add weight up high. Easy to fold up and put away.
