Here is what I did. Its very strong and has been tested extensively. Once I left it unlatched and rode some really bumpy trails for 3 miles before noticing. It was still perfectly aligned and closed perfectly. Mine does limit visibility, but so does 2 rear passengers or a bed full of hunting gear. I also like that it helps hold in all of my hunting gear in the bed with less strapping down. The Ammo can has: scissor jack, 12v air pump, tire plug kit, lug wrench, hatchet, folding shovel(e-tool), Jumper cables, extra 50' synthetic winch rope, and few other misc. items. It is held on by one pin and stays put very well after many miles without issue.
