while attempting to reinstall the bottom bolts on the front bumper of my P1K5 after installing my winch, I believe I have stripped the threads that the bolts goes in to. I used a KFI mount and they supplied longer bolts to use in place of the stock bolts. The holes on the mounting plate didn’t like up exactly square but enough I could get a bolt in.....Is it possible to rethread it? What exactly do I need to do this? I’d rather not take it to a dealer if it’s a fairly easy fix......suggestions please?

Was it one of the horizontal bolts? The ones that go through the frame? Sorry no pictures.

I think I used 1/4" bolt.
I had to use what I had.

It was the bolts on the very bottom of the front bumper.....there’s 1 on each side....I believe that the nut it threads in to is stripped....once the bumper is installed there’s no access to the backside of the bolt.

If it's very bottom one on each side I'm pretty sure it's a m10x1.5. As Tram suggested, run a longer bolt through and add lockwasher and a nut. That's what I did also.

Alternatively the m10 nuts only have 2 tack welds on them. I had one of my nuts break free. You might be able to just knock the nut off and weld on a new one.

Those bolts are major pain to get started. No wonder several have had trouble with them.

Trade it back in, HA! Get a tap and new bolt.

I had the same problem, just cleaned the bolt threads and then used a 10 x1.25tap to re thread the hole and then made sure they lined up and reinserted the bolt.

Do this, then what I did was to is drill a slightly larger hole in the kfi mount to get the bolt started, if needed add a washer, but don't think you will need a washer

If. Remember correctly it's only one hole that is off.

Similar problem and did exactly what you did when mounting up my kfi plow frame. The hole alignment wasn’t perfect on 1 hole and it appeared the threaded hole through frame had weld splatter in all 4 threaded holes so chased em all out before mounting. I’m willing to bet the OP could probably chase them out if they aren’t completely mangled.
