It's a gear box that attaches at each hub, it lifts your sxs 4" and does a 30% gear reduction, it doesn't change the angle of your a arms or cv axle!Ok, I'll bite, what's a portal?
Yeah that's how I feel, I just like the idea of the gear reductionLooks like a lot of money for a machine that goes damn well already... LOL
Yeah I saw that too, for $800!I just saw on one of the FB pioneer pages tonight...someone is offering a gear reduction setup for the trans itself as well.
my firsts 4x4 was a 74 bronco with 36" buckshots... it had an awesome low 4low gear and an even lower 4low reverse gear... it was the small v8, but dang, when it was in 4low reverse it would climb a tree!Looks like the same principle as the old VW Bus reduction gears. I remember the VW manual stated , that if the old bus (36 hp) wouldn't make it up a hill in 1st gear, to back up the hill. I thought that was so funny.
They're a little pricey, at $2899So...how much for the Portals? Definitely the best lift as far as maintaining factory axle angle!
@Dasmoeturhead just pull the trigger on this purchase because you deserve this liftI wish I never saw this thread.
