P1000 Superwinch Terra

I need a winch for my 1000

On my 500, I have had a Terra 3500 and it has been 100% trouble free, and I have used it many many times.

So I was thinking i'd stick with the Superwinch.

Unfortunately, they are sold out on Amazon except for the Canam versions which are more expensive. So I looked at Superwinch's website and it says SOLD OUT there too! I don't really understand it. Maybe they are coming out with a new model or something???

Anyhow, I guess i'll have to stick to the roads until I get a winch figured out!

I have been looking for a couple weeks too. I read that Superwinch was bought by Westin back in March. I haven't heard if Westin will rebrand/continue the line? I guess time to look for alternative?

I have been looking pretty hard at those Vipers. I think I would go with a 6000 as long as there are no fitment issues with the 1000. I need to do more reading about them. I also like the idea of buying through the forum. I see they have a lifetime warranty as well, but I don't know anything about their customer service. I just had such a good experience with my Superwinch my first instinct was to go that route again.

Is the 4500 more than enough power for a 1000-5 ??

I have a Viper Max 4500 that gets used a lot. I do use a snatch block most of the time just to reduce stress and make it work a little less.
If i did it again, it would be a wide spool for the extra cable.

I also just picked up the last Terra 45 that Rural King had. It will be replacing the Viper max up front, and the Viper will move to the rear.

The Terra 45 is much quiter and smoother than the Viper Max. If i ever did another Viper Elite.

Man this sucks. I guess I'm not going to find a Terra 45. I see they are available on Westin's website for $549.99, which is obviously insane. Sure wish I would have bought one when they were $250. My Terra 35 was only $180! Having a real hard time spending more than $300 for a winch at this point. I guess I'll just stick to the pavement till I can find a deal.
