I have tided the 2 1/4 cold shunt from tractor supply and tried closing them with 24 in channel locks , 10 inch C clamp , and a framing hammer . can get them half ass closed but not all the way and t the end through the whole so how do I do it ?

I have that tailgate and rear bumper. While they are expensive, they are very heavy duty. Do not regret buying at all. If you need it, it's worth the money.

First I've seen of this option!! I'm a fan already!! Can carry the extra fuel, tire and still let the tailgate down without having to swing anything away out to the side, etc! NICE!! 👍 👍

Something else I've noticed. I loaded up the bed with the tailgate down and filled it with all the firewood I could stack on it. By the tailgate rising a little in the rear it aloud the firewood to tilt inward toward the cab. I think this helped a lot because I was goning up some pretty good hills and none the firewood sled out. I hauled many loads that day and didn't loose any wood.
