New member and about to be owner of a P520 Friday(so pictures to follow!) Having fun reading about all the accessories. Just looking for any advice on things to look for when taking delivery? Honda has a great reputation but in this environment, quality issues seem to creep up a bit more. Hoping I don’t get many responses and peoples delivery experience has been good. Thanks!

Red was the 1st color all other colors followed Honda hopes they sell.

Good people & information on the Honda forum AND they LIKE PICTURES.

Take it for a quick spin to check how it SHIFTS. ( Ask dealer to Adjust clutch if Needed ) makes the riding more enjoyable from the beginning.

DONOT have to live with Harsh Shifting just because it's New. "Adjust it NOW" & ( May ) need to Adjust again later with oil change.

Put a lock on the ( Check Book & Credit Cards ) or your net worth will shrink.

Open everything that isn't welded or glued shut, look for missing fasteners and pushpins. Check your tire pressures and all fluid levels, both my Talons were delivered with only 2/3 full subtrans (which you might not have so check what you do have). Buy a service manual, they aren't all that expensive and you need something to read when yer on the pooper.

Welcome from Ga. The P500s had issues with the battery cover captured bolts spinning, hope it doesn’t apply to the P520. And check for paint marks on other misc. nuts which indicates torqued. Take a test drive for any shifting jerks, if so ask about clutch adjustment (or be prepared to do it after break in period - very common when new).

TIP, Before you leave the dealership. There’s a common problem with a stripped battery cover captured well nut. Suggest to have the dealer demonstrate removal of the cover, and don’t overtighten when re-installing. Just saying, it can be a pain, better for them to learn the lesson and not...
