I finally located a local dealer with a Pioneer 1000 to sit in and check out the legroom. I’m 6’ 5” and the legroom seems OK, but I thought the area for my left foot seems very cramped. I have always had a Honda, but want to know what other tall people think. I’ve had a deposit down on a Pioneer since Sept….should I check out a Can-Am? Can Am’s are hard to locate around here.

Have you sat in a Can-Am ?

I’m 6’1” and a big guy, it’s fine for me. Adding a throttle max really helps!

on long rides my left leg does get tight, as long as we stop every hour or so I’m fine.

Buddy of mine is 6'4" and about 320. He drives it a lot, the only thing he ever gets uncomfortable with is the throttle.

I don't get it, because I've never had any issue with it.

I'll admit, I thought Throttle Max was a gimmick. Wrong! It vastly improves the ergonomics of what can only be described as a throttle severely lacking in the consideration of Human Factors in its design. I'm too dang old and tall (or used to be before a couple of accidents hammered the spine down some) to go more than 10 minutes with the stock pedal.

I would hate to buy the pioneer without hearing from some owners with the same issues. Thanks much for the reply!

I wonder if Napoleon Bonaparte would’ve felt taller were he to start wearing a Gnome hat?
I can’t seem to understand why everybody thinks I’m so tall in here being that I identify as I know them. Honda red is the Gnomiest color. Even though I might be taller than the average Gnome I still fit OK in my pioneer 1000. If you have knee issues it might complicate things later but even in long distance traveling it seems to be OK. I can always check my left foot into behind my right foot. Right now wearing this giant Robocop boot I don’t fit anywhere except in at church. Boy that is one fat looking beardless

Gnome. And yes he is taller than the other guy even though he’s not wearing his Gnome hat..

Throttle Maxx is huge for my comfort.
I acually like my left knee bent intermittently. Only time i have any trouble is when i have size 12 rubber boots on.

I am 6'2" and 340 with size 14 boots. My left foot is just fine while driving. Right foot was my issue. My right knee is just about right over the loud pedal. 90%+ slow technical trails where I ride. My shin would get sore holding my foot back off the pedal. Throttle max is worth its weight in gold. Also stopped the lurching on rocky trails.

Thanks for the reply! Looks like that left foot room might be an issue.

Thanks for the response. That throttle Max sounds like the way to go. My dealer has a Can Am 6 seater I’m gonna jump in and check for size. I’m hoping it’s the same as the Honda….I really don’t want another brand.

I’m 6’4” with long legs to boot. The ThrottleMax was a godsend for me as well.

If there had been an inch less legroom, I probably would have had to go with the Defender. But I really didn’t want the extra length or the belt.

I sat in a Defender yesterday. I hate to say it but that’s what I’m getting. Such a better fit. I’m gonna hate the belt, but I just don’t want to be upset every time I get in the Honda. I’ll miss the front lockers also.
