I’m guessing that was near Pack Creek on the Utah side? They must have had quite a bit of rain at one point in time and it all silted in down there. But I agree, I would’ve never expected to have mud like that this time of year. Spring time and winter time, yes.

Milts is fun to stop at. My Mom lived about 3 blocks from there and I would walk my kids over to get ice cream when we would visit.

Fins is a fun trail to do for first timers there. Lots of slick rock to ride. Its amazing the traction you can get.

The Moab Brewery is a fun place and Eddie Mc Stiffs has decent pizza, I wouldn't say great but decent.

The Sunset Grill, (formerly the Mi Vida and prior to that was the private residence of Charlie Steen) is a fun place to eat and watch the sun drop over the mesa to the west.

Looks like so much fun.

Yep, we had wives with us that refused to do anything more. Two of them in their 70’s….😂

On our last day back our group split up, some of us wanted to take the alternative route of a steep and rugged Jeep trail, the P5’s opted out and a couple others had to hit the road….

It summited at 10,500’ and rewarded us with some spectacular views, however compromised by the smoke still lingering from the western states fires…..

What it turned out to be was 6’ of mud that had washed in to a depression, and the remedy was that they spread 6” of sawdust over it, apparently believing they created a rideable surface…..🙄

All it did was disguise the danger that lay below….😳

We hooked up with @orangecrate and his wife in Montrose after returning, he couldn’t make the ride because he had a spill on his bike a few weeks earlier, but we had dinner and a nice visit.

On the way home found a gem of a hotel, historic el Rancho along Route 66 in Gallup where John Wayne and others would stay when filming in nearby Monument Valley.
