I know it's been discussed many times, but I was searching and couldn't find the posts about the pipe insulation and whatnot, so I figured I'd make this post for everyone to show what they did to fill the gap and still have the ability to flip the windshield.

Pics are great! Amazon links for the needed supplies are great! Please, if you have the time, post up and be as detailed as possible. TIA

Honestly, if someone came out with a quality kit to fix the gap, I'd buy it.

I just live with it, not really bad enough for me to spend any time on it at this point.

It's bad if you ever get caught in the rain and everyone in the machine is soaked, front AND rear seat passengers. That's kinda why I bought a windshield and roof...to not get soaked

And lots of people enclose their machines in the winter. The gap lets a lot of cold air in.

I stuffed pipe insulation up there because of the rain. We never got soaked but I seen it was gonna be a problem if you were moving while it was raining. The water would ride the roof top over the seats and start dripping. I dont have the doors so I just bundle up during the winter.

I remember a guy using canvas tarp material and velcro, seemed like a pretty good solution with a little work.

I don't have doors either.... I've heard about the pipe insulation but hadn't tried it yet. I am hoping this thread becomes a future resource for others because so many people buy the superatv windshield and the honda roof.

Does the pipe insulation stay put when you flip the windshield though?

Yes it stays put. I'm not sure what size it was. I got it from work. Its wedged in pretty tight. I will measure it when I get home.

I use this for above the mid panel bar to roof and on each side between the roll cage and roof.

For the mid panel bar I have to double them over long ways.

On the front Honda windshield I have long strips of pipe foam jammed in the gap.

It’s not 65 mph proof but it’s never came off on the highway.

I’ll snap a pic when I get home.

I’ve reused mine 2 seasons now and will easily get more.

I take everything off in the summer except the roof and run a rouge power screen.

I was worried my window would break from high wind while on the trailer. This is how I handled it. The foam came off of a fiberglass shower I installed at the deer camp.

I sealed mine with clear flexible vinyl material from Hobby Lobby. It's similar to the material used in a tent-trailer window, or my CEC P1K enclosure windows. I used 3M dual lock adhesive strips on the top of the SuperATV split windshield, and the bottom of the Honda OEM roof. I did some measurements and made a template to cut the plastic material, then put dual lock on it to attach to the windshield and roof. Used 3M 4298 adhesion promoter before attaching the dual lock. It helped, though I'm not sure if it was required. I already had the adhesion promoter sitting around from the door seals project.

It keeps the wet out. I can open and close the split windshield without issue. I've towed it at 75 MPH with no issue. If I had to do it again I would use a slightly thinner and more flexible material. I doesn't need to be clear. Just something the dual lock tape will stick to well enough.

I really don't like my Super ATV full windshield for all the above reasons, only time it's worth a poop is rain! With the upper open in nice weather the lower docent deflect wind like my Dolphin shortie does, I can wear a hat loosely and it stays put! Super ATV has some short coming and this is one of them as well as Dolphin! Make a shortie with the lip for deflection and the upper to match/fit! DUGH!!!!!! On both companies!!!!!

SupaATV three position flip-up, bay bay! Does everything I need. I've also had on since last fall a CEC enclosure with zip out fronts, and roll-up back windows. It will probably stay on the wagon until it falls apart. Only issue I have is it can get warm for the back seaters at low speeds, but full open kimono is the only cure for that.

I wouldn't be able to keep a full enclosure intact for very long, ride mostly tight woods, lots of brush. wish some one made a quick change with storage gizmo!
