What is everyone doing to prevent theft? That ignition key supplied by Honda does not fill me with confidence.

I have a Trimax wheel lock on the trailer and might get another one for the P1000.
That, and maybe an ignition kill switch somewhere.

There is lots of good places to hide this sucker on the 1000.[/parsehtml][/parsehtml]

I've read an alarming number of thefts where they steal the trailer and all with your SXS on it or in it. In addition to your securing the SXS to flat bed open trailers I would also recommend a lock on the hitch clasp or the safety chain to the hitch loop.

Oh, absolutely. I've heard those same horror stories about trailer and all right off your hitch while in a restaurant or store. A lock for the trailer's "ball grabber" is a must.

Might not stop a serious thief but it'll slow em down.

I just get insurance and don't worry about it. IMO if someone wants it bad enough they will get it.

Good to have insurance for the financial loss.
One concern I have is being 20 miles in the bush, then going on foot. I'd like my machine to where I left it when I get back.
These Pioneers must look like an easy free ride for someone who is inclined to take it.
It may not be a likely scenario but I don't mind spending a few dollars to minimize my risk.

Insurance is always the way to go especially when you have so much invested in an atv. Could have bought small suv for the total costs? Not complaining though, had to get full insurance after had it made street legal at dealership. Evan so,always add extra hitch lock, always keep trailer locked and wheel lock and if all that fails there is always Smith and Wesson insurance| Happy trails, Franz

They have apps to find your phone, tablet, etc. No reason a person with a whole lot more electronic knowledge than I, couldn't rig one up. Even an app to shut your machine down if it is stolen.

Something like onstar. My wife just got it in her new car. For small monthly charge they can do a lot for you when in trouble. Of course might be little difficult to find you in middle of woods? Just a thought?

I like the Encore M1. It has an active and passive alarm and small LED flashing when activated. It comes with two key fobs. I have insurance but, when I park it to trout fish, I would like it to be there when I get back.

I also use a TriMax hitch and trailer locks. Some friends of mine where followed to their camp in Bergoo W.V. And the next morning, trailer and two Razors gone. I even lock my spare tire on my trailer with a cable and lock.

I have Spingfield 45's and plenty of Glocks, They just don't do much good a mile away from my Pioneer. But up close.Ol' yea!! Best thing is, I live a mile from Novak's they can tune a 45 with the best of them. And we get a local's discount.

I like this. A well spent 75 bucks in my opinion. Bookmarking site for future purchase.
