At the last minute we decided to go on a ride. All day through trees and mud. I was grabbing stuff I thought I did not want to be without.
Tow straps
Tool kit
Compressor (I haven't made my CO2 bottle yet)
Ice chest (cold beverages)
Mosquito Spray
Sunscreen
A tote (for misc snacks, clothes, rags etc...)

It made me wonder.

If you had to grab the bare essentials before heading out on a ride, what is most important to you?

Tough to say as it would vary based on where I was going, what time etc. in general I'd say my bare minimum list looks like this-

1. Tow strap and basic recovery gear (shackle, tree saver, snatch block)
2. Tire repair kit or spare tire ( repair kit has a hand pump)
3. Ice chest
4. Cell phone

In reality I bring much more than that, but those are my must haves

Cooler
Phone for music
Tow strap
Spare tire
Are my must haves. I normally take more. Of course this weekend will be the first trip out so my list is subject to change

I've consolidated most everything I need need to under my seat storage and glove box... I have a tote full of everything imaginable.. from tools to food to extra clothes and overnight emergency items to first aid and a shovel. It makes it simple to load for a ride. Just toss the tote, spare tire, cooler, fuel pack and wife in and I'm ready to go!

Have a tote that stays in the back - it has everything it. I just need to get a small bag from my truck and cooler. Seems like everytime I go out I end up adding an item or two to the tote that would have made things easier/ come in useful -probably need to get rid of some stuff

3 things seem to be the biggest concern.

Flat
Battery
Recovery

There are a 1000 other things that make a trip more (or less) enjoyable, but those things seem to top the list.

Ive done pretty much the same. I keep a few things on board at all times like multi tool and first aid kit. But i have a pelican case that i keep everything in except my socket set, so i just throw that in the bed as well as a cooler and gas and im ready to go.

My riding box has the following, and im sure i forgot some as well:
I have tire repair (plugs and valve stems)
Tape and zip ties
screwdrivers, pliers, and wrenches
shovel
recovery gear and tow straps
water toy i can use to clean off radiator
air compressor
nuts and bolts of varying sizes
fuses and electrical repair accessories (wire, crimpers, splices, etc)
portable power pack (for phones)
bungee and ratchet straps
3lb hammer
prybar
hose and hose barbs
towel

Cant think what else off top of my head

Dang you carry a lot. I have a small bag with tow strap/treesaver, shackle, and a snatchblock. I carry a small ammo can with random tools and such in it. Have to keep room for peaches to move in the bed so I can't have it full of tools.

Yea, when i ride at a park I leave that box in the truck and just carry tire repair, first aid, and recovery gear. But when trail riding I cary the entire box. I also ride with all Polaris people... need to add a fire extinguisher to my list.

I'm curious.... I've seen a number of you mention carrying stuff under your seat. I have a pioneer 700-4. How would I carry stuff under the seat?
