OK, I hope all is well with you, 500 peeps. Now Honda says if you go beyond 25 degrees sideways, you will flip over.
So that got me thinking about what I should do to stop that. Being that in my airline carrier, I understood what flipping over was about and it may kill you. So I went to the local hardware store and purchased a level and put it right on my dash. Now, if I am going on an angle, I know when the ATV500 will flip over. If it is near 25 degrees, it is time to get the winch out and tie it above me, and then I am safe.

Meh, that 25* is just a recommendation. By the time you are starting to turn over the last thing you'll do is look at a level or clinometer. It does them good to take a nap every now and then...

Most of the guys that have put it on its side will tell you it happens pretty quick and when your not expecting it. I was in 1st gear at 2mph when this went from I’m good to oh s^*t in the blink of an eye!

You can use a "level" app on your phone also, although I'll go with this in practice:

"By the time you are starting to turn over the last thing you'll do is look at a level or clinometer."

In my best arrogant accent " I believe it's referred to as flopping". Every time I put mine on it's side I was going under 5 MPH. When I added 5+2 offset rims and spacers, it never happened again and believe me when I say I try, I try. Very stable now. 3rd picture isn't me. I just threw it in for effect. I've flopped the 500 8 or 9 times and the 1000 once. No Protozoa were harmed in taking these photos...and welcome person from Canada.

Go fast and you won't last. You will die if you keep it up. Hopefully, you won't kill anyone else. The forest trails are not a race track. Safety First. 25 degrees stop at 20 and then look at what you are doing. Especially if you have children with you. Please don't kill them.

Unless you're riding some seriously boring sh**, you can't ride that way! There's no stopping in the middle when straddling 3' ruts, you just choose a line and commit. Portable tilt meter is sitting in the seat.
Can't speak for anyone else but I promise not to kill any children. ;)

I bet you are a hoot to ride with  ... The group I ride with typically has a gentleman's bet going on who will flop over before we ever even hit the trail. Both times I've tipped over have been going less than 5 mph (hell, probably less than 2 mph) and it goes over so slow that you have a few seconds to slam back the rest of your beer and crush the can on your forehead before the Earth reclaims you.

Oh, and the "forest trails are not a race track"... Ever heard of a hare scramble? It's a race track setup in the forest :).

Best tilt meter is between your ears. Only takes a rock under the wheel or a slippery rut to change the numbers. I’m more likely to be hit by younger/wild riders than for me to hit them.
