I have a full set on my serice truck. Works good. The only issue j have ran into is on the smaller screw sizes by extra threaded center tips. Its a realy fine line to get the knurled insert to start to flex and grip your material. Befor you break the center tip of the tool. Sizes 12 and smaller machine screw. I have found. To give the insert a light squeeze to get it started. Than remove the tool. And jack it in with a regular screw, so if you break any thing it is just a .02 cent screw and not your tool tipIm going to purchase a nutsert tool. Im asking my extended family here what they have and if they like it. Thanks for any input, Mike
That one looks good. But it might be a little big and bulky to get into right places. They make one like a hand riviter
Ok so as long as i go 6mm or 1/4-20 and larger, they work pretty good. Is the one you us have straight handles or the pop rivit type handles?I have a full set on my serice truck. Works good. I did see that type, but i wonder if its very difficult to set inserts over 1/4"That one looks good. But it might be a little big and bulky to get into right places. They make one like a hand riviter

They do take more grip strength with the bigger sizes. 3/8 takes every thing i have to get it to squash. But dont realy use the bigger sizes much. Typically use #12 or 1/4" the nutzert and bolt is only as strong as the material you are clamping it to.I did see that type, but i wonder if its very difficult to set inserts over 1/4"

Yea, im usually the only one that uses my tools. So i will definitely read a lot of reviews.Spend a few extra dollars and get a good one. Cheap ones from NorthernTool/TractorSupply/Harbor Freight are JUNK!
I think if its over 5/16 ill thread the hole or through bolt. Thanks for the input. They do take more grip strength with the bigger sizes. 3/8 takes every thing i have to get it to squash.
