What is the biggest tire and wheel that you can put on without a lift? I want to upgrade to a 14 inch rim and and 28 inch tire. Will I have enough clearance. Thanks John

View media item 3181View media item 3189I went from 14” stock to 12” after market, my ride quality is so much better with 12” rims with 28” tire. I install Tercher Altas 28”x12” and what difference in ride, tall rims are for high speed handling , not off road. I’m so glad I when down to 12”. Everyone that rides with me can tell a big difference

I mainly do all off-roading do you think its better to go with a 12 rim and 28 inch tire or 14 inch rim and 28 inch tire. Thanks John

If you are planning on adding SATV a-arms note that they will rub a 12” rim a 14” will clear them unless that are dual beadlocks and they just barely run at full lock compressed.

If I stay with the 12 inch rim and bump up to the 28 inch tire do I need to add a lift. Thanks John

in a few post i have read that 28” fit without lift. stick with 9” front and 11” rear. my buddy has 10” all fours, i hook up better than him, with 12” bead locks i can drop psi and where as my buddy spins until he’s sitting on his skid plate

12" diameter Tusk Terrabite I believe are 27"
I run the 9in in front and 11's in back. I think there a pretty good 8 ply tire, but they don't fair well against mud IMHO.

im running 9”x28”-12” and 11”x28-12” on 12”x8” bead locker. At 12 psi im a tad over 28” (teracher altas) they have been great tires and already noticed improved traction in mud. tire flotation is much better than OEM and most light truck 15” DOT radials. Im telling you, 12” is the way to go. im running 12”x8” (4/4 offset) or 0 offset, wheels and tires fit without rubbing. i did install 2” lightlift to get skid plate off the deck. 12” fat tires to me are the way to go. i whent from 14” stock to 12” and i noticed a softer, more controlled ride, hooked up much better in turns, not so loose. i have ridden in a few utv with 15” rims, felt like i was in my old one ton dually, i remembered why i got ride of it.
