P1000 Tire width on the LE

I have noticed the LE rear tire is 2 inches wider than the front. If one was to get a spare tire/wheel should he get the wide one or the narrower one ?

27 x 9" x 14" Front
27 x 11" x 14" Rear

The front is only one universal as a spare.

I have my spare the same size as the front tire. I have a deluxe and my rear tires are wider as well.

Yep, think Honda did that for curb appeal! No other reason to do that!

These junk tires have limited load capacity as do many other 2/4 ply radials. 11” has a greater load rating which alleviates some if the problem. If I were to use a 9”OEM Bighorn 2 as a spare in the back, I would only do so as a last resort. These tires are real wimpy. This is one advantage to going to 9 or 10 inch 8 ply or 10 ply rated on all four corners.

Great help folks thank you very much. Are the tires really that bad or are the upgrades just very much better? It sounds like they are just balloons.

They have a reputation for puncturing easy and not wearing well. Mine are sitting in the corner of my garage as “new take offs”. I don’t have any desire to be stranded 30 miles from my truck. I replaced with Pitbull Growlers. There are many fine choices out there based on your riding terrain.
