I installed 27 inch big Horn Tires and ITP wheels. The top speed increased about 5 mph. On flat roads I get 48 mph at the rev limiter. On a slight downhill the torque converter unloads and I get 50.3. On the fast sections I usually cruise at about 35 to 43. When my speedo is at 40 the speed on my GPS is 43. Above that I’m on the down side of the Torque and HP curves plus I don’t like running at the rev limiter. On most of the long hills I can maintain about 40 mph and in the deep loose sand washes I get up to 35 mph going uphill and 38 mph on the down hills.

Hondabob that's a fairly good speed. Are you pulling that speed off the display or from a GPS.
I ask because you are going faster then the display says with bigger tires. That has saved me from 2 speeding tickets in my truck.. lol.
Need to find a super big hill and see what it will do. Lol.

Did you paint the top for heat reflecting or looks? Did you notice a difference?
Thanks.

Bob lives just up the valley from me. I'd say the top was done for heat reflection, and probably makes for a much cooler machine this time of year. I was about 2000' higher yesterday, and that black top still gets hot enough to burn you on a day like today. Arizona sun is brutal, no matter how high up you are.

At least i'll know him if i meet him out on the trail.

It's GPS speed. On the flat the speedo reads 45 and the GPS reads 48. The odometer is off with the big tires, slow by 12%.

Did you notice much power loss with the taller tires?

I tested on a really steep hill that you wouldn't stop on normally. I couldn't tell the difference and it was the same on my 09 Big Red. The large tires allows me to cruise the fast forest and desert roads at 35 to 43 mph without running the engine at the rev limiter. Above 40 on the speedo you are on the down side of the HP and torque curves. At 40 on the speedo you would be doing 43 on the flat sections and 45 on the down hills. The front tires will just touch at full lock with the suspension bottomed. The ITP wheels have a 1 inch off set, more then the stock wheels.
