P500 Towing on 8 foot trailer?

I use a 5 by 7 trailer that is actually 88 inches long. front will drop down so I installed chains to kept it at about 45 degree angle and on the back ramp made brackets to hold ramp at about 60 degree angle. Works great. Use straps on rear wheels only when hauling p5

Just to clarify my question. I need to know if I will be able to close the fold down ramp with the P500 loaded forward or backwards. I never said that I was going to load in the back of my truck. I did say that the P500 "can" be towed in the back of a truck. At least that what the Honda website says.

If I will not be able to close the fold down ramp, then I will remove it and go with a couple of removable steel ramps.
Welcome aboard from Northeast Texas!

I'm do to pick up my new 500 this coming week. I own a 5x8 trailer, that I have used for towing my 4-wheeler. I know that the 500 can be towed in the back of a pickup, but I have a ramp on the back of my trailer, which locks in the upright position. Will I have to trailer the 500 backwards to be able to shut the ramp? Just wondering how tight this is going to be.

Thanks guys...this form is awesome.
Hey Im in the same situation right now. Howd this end up working out for you?

I use a 5x8, but the rear gate would not shut all the way. To resolve this, I added a piece of 3x3 tubing to the front of the trailer, which also required extending the top rail. You can see the added tubing in the pictures.....fits perfect now.

Sorry to change the subject, but your Rotopax is sweet. How is it mounted? And what is that container above the gas can?
Hi,

#VonHarvester

The items above the ROTOPAX are actually sand ladders. They are just a traction aiding device for use when you are stuck in soft conditions.

I have the ROTOPAX ratchet-strapped to the ROPS. I used a red strap so you can't really see it in the picture. Here is a close up:

It rests on the front of the bed and the ratchet-strap holds it in place. It worked really well!

I could have used one on my last ride fuel gauge was reading wonky and I ran out in the forest on a Monday! It just so happened a large group on their first ride ever helped my wife and I by calling member in their group to bring us 2 gallons of gas. It would have been real nice to have had a 1-2 gallon reserve tank.

This one is 4 gallons. Never had to use it yet other than try to rotate the gas that I have in there. But I do try to take it with me if we’re gonna go on an extended ride.

For those who need an extra few inches of room and there's a strap locating the ramp, you can extend the strap.

I went from this -

to this - (I've since cut off the 5th hole, it was more than I needed and kept snagging my arm on the way by)

I previously had a 5x8 trailer and problem with them is the single tongue bar is not heavy enough for what your hauling. It bent down, and this was a Carry-on trailer. And the mesh bottom is dented down to a sway, I put some 5in metal bar on the back and kept the gate at an angle but any bigger tires and would not hold it.
