hello, got the rhino wheel chocks to tow my pio 1000-6 on a 6x16 tandem axle trailer.

problem is i mounted the chocks so front of sxs is flush w front of trailer

this causes alot of stress on front trailer tires and they bow out. already had bearing issues

therefore do folks:
- align sxs further back on trailer (more over axles)? i do have about 3’ space to play with
or
- back sxs in trailer to front for better weight distribution?

thx, jb

My 700-4 is usually centered on the axle of my 6.5x13. Weight of the trailer plus gear in front of the Sxs helps give the right amount of tongue weight.

Would have bought a double axle if I could have found one with drop rails, but the single has worked well for us.

Don't load the trailer down behind the axle, it will fish tail badly.
Too forward effects steering and gives the tow rig the feel of being pushed.
And the tire wear you have.

I start mine so the weight is over the axles, then move forward or slightly back until the trailer is level and I have no more than the rule if thumb, 10 - 15 % tounge weight, (depending which trailer and how heavy the load). I add chalks so I can drive into the sweet spot constantly, then tie down from there.
Distribute carry on stuff evenly.

I use a county scale nearby to calculate and adjust. Takes some time but my loaded trailers all pull great.
