Hey all, former P700 owner, traded for a 1000 xp ranger. Had it 9 months and absolutely u happy with it. Dust in the cab is unbearable, the 700 was fine. 1,500 miles on it and it needs a drive belt, never driven hard mostly just gravel back roads and never any mud. What kind of deal should I be looking for on a new 1000-5?
Is the deluxe worth the extra money over the base model? Looking for advice... Thanks!

I bought the base and added tires/wheels of my liking plus the color matching body panels for less than I could buy a deluxe. You’re results may vary but those two items are the only difference that I’m aware of on the 5 seater.

Dust is always a problem if you only have a windshield, regardless of what utv you have.

Dust with a cab kit is less, but they are definitely not built to automotive standards.

lol, just messin with ya!
Well that’s an expensive lesson to swallow. Like @301 said, I As well bought a base model and added my own set of wheels and panels and such to it. If you do some digging and are willing to travel a bit as well, you can find a good deal on a left over years model or this years, base or deluxe. Good luck with your endeavors:)

Yes, good luck with the dust issue on any machine unless you have a full inclosure. I use a soft mid panel and it helps a lot. These are open Cockpit machines like a jeep with there tops off. There gona get dust but you can minamalize (is that a word🤔 sounds good tho!) some of the dust. Just something you have to live with.

Dust in the 700 Honda I had wasn't an issue but this ranger is ungodly. Local dealer has a 100-5 Deluxe for $16,400, does that sound reasonable?

Is that OTD? I bought a base 6 moths ago in Alabama for about 15k then added a few things at dealer. I know thwre are some good deals out there now, shop around, if you are willing to drive a few hrs it might save you a few thousand. And yeah difference from base to DLX is just side panels, wheels n tires, and head lights. Most of which you'll end up upgrading anyways.

Good luck

Good luck on the Honda. I run a half windshield and found if I mount it up a couple of inches higher that it lets enough air flow through and it minimizes the dust.

Tons of threads on Base vs Deluxe deal. Its wheels, tires, Led Headlights and body panels. Price difference is 500-1000 depending on the dealer. I priced a base and ended up getting a deluxe for almost the same price because honda had an extra 250 rebate on the Deluxe model. Which one just depends on what you want. I for sure wanted led headlights. Those alone are 399 online so my choice was obvious. I would be out right amazed if anyone could covert a base to a deluxe for less then 500 dollars. Again just the headlights are 400 lol. Cheapest price I've seen on a 2020 is 14500 for a base and 15k for a deluxe.

When I got mine the base had a bigger discount plus the dealer worked with me better on it. I bought LED bulbs for my base housings off Amazon for $38 and they’re brighter than Deluxe headlights when sitting side by side. I also wanted different wheels and tires than what comes stock on the Deluxe. Sold my stockers for $300 to a local farmer and bought the colored panels for $200. I’m into it for around $300 less than the Deluxe and have a better tire/wheel combo.

Here’s mine (the red one) and my buddies new camo 1000-5. Mine is a 2019 deluxe and I paid $15,300 OTD in November and my buddy just bought his 2020 deluxe for $15,700 OTD. Both purchased in Missouri from different dealers.

Left overs may be getting harder and harder to find. I recently talked to the salesperson who sold me mine last year and he said they have no 18 or 19 leftovers and have just a couple 20's left. When I got mine a year ago they had 8 - 18's at the time and could get as many as they wanted.

Didn't Bruce Jenner cut off his pecker when he/she/it bought a Polaris? Buy a base and build it your way. 1/2" UHMW, under armor, roof, superATV flip windshield. 4500 LB winch. It's still with stock rims after 3000 miles. I bought fox shocks used from club member and they did make a difference. Auxillary Rotating Vramminix Ectoplasmiscistic Electrocharcoil Flesh Eraser Cannon with full auto cannon upgrade and Slayer Terminizer Erasdicators
