I have a new 2016 Pioneer 7002P and want to put a set of 14" aluminum wheels and 27" tires but don't know or understand what offset I should use.I don't want to do suspension work at this time to keep tires from rubbing. Factory wheels are 12x8 with 4+2 offset on the front and the rear is 12x10 with 5+3 offset. I would like a little wider stance on my unit. I work where all these units are built but on the equipment side. I don't get involved with what unit carries what wheels. I would appreciate any good info I can get on this to make a good decision on what offset wheels to buy.

Thanks

First of all, welcome to the forum. We are glad to have you come on board. Second, we love pics, so please give us some pics of the P700 out in its natural habitat.

For wheel size decisions, I would break it down into different categories.

1: RIDE QUALITY/WHEEL DAMAGE
This category is related to wheel size. There are some people that have busted aluminum wheels when running 27" or smaller tires on 14" wheels. There is less sidewall to absorb the impact from rocks. Also, when using smaller wheels you can get a better ride. Some people say go 14" wheels when using 28" tires or larger.

2: STEERING/MUD SLINGING
This category is related to offset. If you get a wheel with a lot of offset, it will increase steering effort by increasing the "scrub radius". When scrub radius is increasing, you will get more bump steer and more driver fatigue. (SATV power steering fixes this) Also, you may want to think about fender flares if you get more offset.

Offset explained, this link will do a better job than I can. Wheel Offset Explained

I used 3.5-3.5 on my P700. That's about as far out as you want to go. I really liked it. It was 14" wheels with 28" tires.

Do you have wides tires on front. I just ordered some msa wheels with same offset and after reading I'm a little nervous about rubbing. I also ordered wides on front 28s
Thanks

I used 28x10 all the way around. But also I had the crappy high lifter lift that was sagging.

Did they rub. I like the wide look better. But I don't want rub. I have the 2" spring spacer lift in front. Thanks for replying. I'm just wondering if I should have gone with a 4+3 or 5+2 instead.

It will also depend on the actual tire size and weight of accessories.

Gotcha. Mine are true 28s mega mayhem. Did yours rub? I don't have a lot of extra weight just my 215lbs and my passengers. Lol

I had a lot of additional weight from the larger bumper, winch, full-size truck battery, etc.

Also the Evo's that I had were 28 1/4 inches tall. I'm not sure if you will have a problem or not. I probably only had 2 inches of lift after the lift kit had failed me
