Anyone know if the Warn Axon 55 will fit on a Tough Country Bumper?

Thanks,

I have a Warn Axon 45s on mine. You could look at Warns site and see if the footprint is the same.

Thanks for the reply. Can you post a photo? I have looked, and the footprint is the same with the Axon 45s as is the 55s. It's the proximity to the cross bar that my light bar is mounted to that concerns me. It looks like it would be a real tight fit.........

Fro, thanks for the pics!

Haldog77, They are an AWESOME bumper. We had the throttle pedal stick on ours and hit a 6" pine at probably 10-15MPH and it didn't do any damage to the bumper. The bumper hit the tree about 6" from the right end.

What caused it to stick?

We had just crossed a puddle that was deeper than normal and then I floored it going up a short steep hill. As we got to the top of the hill and I let off the throttle, it just kept going and there was nowhere to go but into trees. Read up on the pivot point that freezes up and spray it with some lube and work the throttle full range with the machine off before you run it each time (to test if it is sticky). Then take it in as soon as you can. Our accident could have been really bad, but we just ended up with a damaged machine (took out the front right a-arms and tie rod) and my wife with a couple bruised knees. Honda warrantied the replacement of the front frame clip and my wife was ok in a couple weeks.

Thanks for sharing.

I also spoke with Tough Country yesterday and they said it should fit.

Update - installed the Axon 55-S. It fits but is very tight. I wish the cross tube that the light bar mounts on was 1/4" higher. Other than that, it looks great.

FYI you might want to reinforce the tabs the mount the TC bumper to the upper mounts of the Pioneer. In another thread JTW mentioned his bending and I checked mine and they are also slightly bent after so pretty heavy winching.

Next time you have the bumper off, could you or JTW snap a pic of the tabs that need to be reinforced? I am planning on purchasing a Tough Country bumper or building one very similar. Thanks

Same here - would love to see where the reinforcement needs to be. I've not noticed anything so far.

Here is a picture of my TC bumper. I haven't had a chance to take it off and fix it. I notice something looked different on my bumper gap but didn't find the bent tab till JTW said something about it.

I love the TC bumper. The protection and easy of winch access but there mounting to the Pioneer is a little lacking for a winch mount/ pull point.

The picture is my top right mount point.60c51a0489b9ddc1972c575aff2d31c7
