Ill edumacate you 😂

We have plants (Ford, Gm & Chrysler) Im sure ill miss a few, in Flint, Saginaw, Rosenville, Saline, Lansing, Willow Run, Milan, Flat rock, Dearborn and Wayne to name a small few. The only Plant anywhere near and closest Detroit is the Warren assembly plant that Makes all Ram trucks. For the record, Wayne assembly makes the Ford F-150 and is In a suburb of the city. Reason this is cuz the City is a $hithole unless you are in the Sports arena areas that have been gutted and rebuilt nicely in recent years. The RenCen is the silver tube looking tower you see on the Detroit river in the city in many photos and video shots during professional games. That is GM headquarters. Ford headquarters is in Dearborn (another suburb) as is there R&D with hundreds of buildings and home of the Ford Ruge plant that makes the Mustang and a few others. Chrysler has there headquarters in Auburn Hills 60 miles north of the City. Been there many times when I worked at Roush. Side note: At one point when things were normal there over a hundred years ago, Ford, Packard, GM had plants in the city.

There Proving grounds is a whole other thing. I live just over an hr from the city, an Hr and 25 min to be exact. But Im roughly 10 miles down the road on the same rd as the Chrysler proving grounds. GM is in Milford 45 min from me and North west of the city, and Fords is near the salfige area 1hr north of the city in the middle of noware near the air force base lol.

Ill also add, a big Toyota R&D and small proving grounds is located in Milan 15 miles south of The Peoples Socialist Republic of Ann Arbor where my co is located.

As For my family, yes many of them work or have worked for the big 3 and if you live in the area, you have a family of some sort that most likely have as well. Very Blue collar and proud hard workers. Mine have worked or still do at Rosenville (Ford) Sline (Ford) willow run (when it was Ford, Now GM and some still there) and Wayne assembly (Ford) Have close friends that work at the Chrysler proving grounds down the road and a few at Ford Headquarters in design and engineering in Dearborn. Many of my customers also work at these places in some capacity or another.
Now hopefully you have a better understanding of us and where many Big 3 cars and trucks are designed and made and its Not necessarily in city of Detroit

A) Honda is not Toyota.
B) Demming was hugely influential in the quality movment in post war Japan (After being rejected by Detroit).

Finally, @Remington I think I will take a non union job.
My neighbor accross the street (sort of, I live rural) works for Honda at there engine factory.
In '08 they where not laird off while the factory was closed for 3 months.
They had the option to stay home with out pay or go in and do maintnace or local service work.
Honda sent armies of people out to local parks and schools to do capitol improvements while Honda paid them.
For the scamdemic Honda cut a deal with the state and made up the diffrence between unemployment and there base wage.

I wasn’t implying Honda was Toyota.

I was saying all the issues of todays crippled manufacturing caused by the pandemic is a direct result of the no parts inventory principles of 5S, JIT (just in time), & 6sigma……which is all based on Taiichi Ohno’s Toyota Production System.
See the link I attached a few posts above.

Maximizing profits by not having money tied up in parts inventory means nothing if you can’t build products to sell due to no parts caused by global supply chain issues.

Hopefully companies will have lost enough money with this fiasco to realize those principles do not work unless your company controls or owns every aspect of your supply chain.

There are some good things in those principles regarding reducing waste, however many companies take it way too far

So two different SXS (Yamaha and now waiting on P520) have no definite delivery dates, and that is apparently typical in this industry, what exactly are the employees doing right now? Got to be very boring if just sitting around waiting for parts.
I don't know what to tell you about P520 availability. But if you are looking for Yamaha RMAX dealers all around me now have dozens in stock, both 2022 and 2023 models of both 2 seat 4 seat and each of the 4 trim levels. Maybe its just your dealer?

Honda / Yamaha of Knoxville, TN 21 RMAX on hand : All Inventory | Honda of Knoxville Tennessee

Lemonds Honda Yamaha of Fairfield, IL 9 Yamaha & 6 Hondas SXS (no P520): Powersport Vehicles For Sale | IN & IL | Powersport Dealer

Mountain Motorsports 10 locations 100 Yamahas in stock only 2 Honda P1K's: New Inventory | Mountain Motorsports - Sevierville | Kodak Tennessee

Wolverine X2 850 was specifically what I was looking for as a possible option to the P520. Just as difficult to find within 500 miles of Austin TX.

This discussion of Honda side by side production, just-in-time inventory management, and automobile manufacturing in Michigan is much like discussing improvement in the evening menu and movie choices on the Titanic after the ship struct the iceberg.

The United Staes has struck three icebergs. The first when Trump began playing hardball with the Chinese over the many ways China cheats us in world trade and currency manipulation which I believe led to the intentional release of the COVID virus by China and the shutdown of microchip manufacturing. The second when the democraps in congress began mailing free money to everyone which created massive inflation, and the third when a corrupt and senile old socialist stole an election and immediately imposed his stupid policies like shutting down our energy production industry which immediately drove up fuel costs.

Our economy is in the tank now. Most American families are feeling the pinch of severe and rising inflation in the grocery store and in every purchase they make. Some are in desperate shape just trying to keep their home warm during an extremely cold winter.

All retail sales are slow now and luxury items like our ATV toys are almost nonexistent. If Honda production is down it's for a good reason. Few Americans have discretionary income to spend on frivolous toys.

Until the nation gets rid of Biden and his party the economy is going to remain weak and we might slip into a depression. Some experts predicting the economy will get worse.

Honda side by side sales are the least of our worries right now.

Facts are offensive to some people. That's sad. My answer gets into politics because political policy and actions are the answer to the question.

Someone asked a good question and I answered his question and explained the fundamental elements of my answer.

If someone disagrees and wants to present an opposing viewpoint without insults I'll be happy to explain further. Or if someone would like for me to further explain my answer I'll be happy to do so.

Playing cards with the Ford and Chevy guys. They are all idling their plants to keep the prices up.

Manufacturers only get invoice out of units, so dealers are the only ones who could benefit from higher prices due to lack of product.

Honda makes the sake from us regardless, they'd actually want more product on our floors sp there's potential for interest on flooring cost.
