P1000 Which skidplate and A Arm Guards do you recommend?

What are you guys using. Like / dislike abut it?

I have Trail Armor.

the a arm guards are debatable if your doing lots of mud etc as they can hold it in.

my riding is mostly rocky terrain when I do get to go, so I leave them on.

I don't do the mud bogs and when there's a go around for a deep mud hole I take it. We ride mostly rocky trails but parts of the year they can be muddy, took my A arms guards off, tired of digging mud out from around the boots every time I stoped and a hecka a lot easier to wash around when I got home. But kept the 1/2 inch plastic skids.

If you mud at all, most guards will just trap it all around the arms/cv shaft and boot. Most people would benefit from arched arms before benefiting from guards.

I recommend any arms with arch and forward offset.
I recommend any UHMW skid plate.

Now you have to decide your own budget because that will determine the brands you can afford.

Ive also had Rivel aluminum skids on my P1K5 since 16’ beat the sh!t out of them and there still stout.

In the overall scheme of things, Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (or UHMW-PE for short), is by far the strongest long chain polymer (plastic). It is mechanically strong to resist impacts, and is nearly as slippery as Teflon (but much stronger). Unfortunately, it's also expensive. Compared to aluminum, no contest.

That said, my 21 SE has an aluminum skid plate, as that's what it came with. Don't do a lot of rock crawling, so no plan to upgrade yet. Very little mud here in the desert, so the control arm guards will stay on, though I've cleaned the mud from them a few times.

I have the 1/2" plastic Trail Armor skids, haven't really abused them but they cover up most everything.

I have a 2021 P1K5 LE, which came with Honda's stock aluminum skid plates and arm guards. I bought the LE to get the Fox shocks, not the armor down under. I've hit it, and can appreciate that it works. But for my riding I don't need it down there and it's 80 pounds. UHMW is lighter and likely will last as long.
My 2 cents (inflation says a nickel) is that you don't want it if you are mudding and cleaning all the time; you want it if you are belly sliding or sending it over rock.

I’m running a 3/8 tusk. Decently priced good coverage and thick enough for my riding. No guards.

Any uhmw is slickery and goodly.
