Fuse block!

Then I realized I wired it up as constant power 🧐

Ordered the ignition power pigtail from the shop and a constant duty cycle solenoid, so I'll change it to ignition power this weekend. Or perhaps add a DPDT switch so I can toggle either way.

Continuous duty relay and the key on pigtail showed up today so they're in. Honda provided a convenient hole to secure the relay with a friction pin. Not much I enjoy more than a convenient hole.

Aux/Key On switch should be here in a couple days to finish it off.

Aux/Key On switch showed up today! Also some stickers and schwag.

Started with making a harness to the switch.

The other end gets a 6 pin Deutsch DT connector (really an Amazon JReady knockoff but they work excellent)

Mostly finished. My wire up is a little bit of a hybrid of the diagrams from another thread on the forums here. I want the Aux light on when switched to Aux, but I want the Key-On light on only with the headlights. I have everything done except the headlight connection so I left the zip tie loose for now.

Doing the headlights side of the switch backlight was the least straight-forward part. The trick is to have power to the switch for both low and high beam, while keeping low and high beam power separated on the UTV side of things. Honda needed to do the same combination-with-separation for the tail lights and has a special double-diode in the fuse box for this, with the combined output being a brown wire. I was originally going to use this brown wire under the fuse box but I really didn't want to disturb any of the factory wiring so decided against it. Instead I decided to duplicate the effect; there's a connector just to the side of the fuse box that carries the individual high and low beam power in a 6-pin connector. I ordered the same kind of connector from the club store and made a jumper harness that goes in-between the factory connection and connected 2 diodes together on their cathodes, and one anode to low beam and the other to high beam. The combined cathodes are then hot whenever either low or high beam are on, and then that is carried to pin 10 on the switch.

Would you believe that junk showed up the very next day!? Sorry, no dangling from a tree shots. Ran out of time.

The solenoid is huge. I decided to mount it to the battery strap.
