Is it possible for a guy that's not that great at electrical projects to install his own winch? Lol I been thinking about giving it a shot but still on the fence. It seems it would be much cheaper but not sure I would even know where to start. Opinions please, thanks.....

Yes. Its easy to wire it using the parts and wire that most winches come with. Even someone who has never wired can do the basic install.

Do you have a mount in mind?
We can help guide you through it.

Is there a mount you guys recommend? I've seen some kfi combos that have 4500lb winch and mount. Are they any good? I also plan to put a plow on later so is there a certain mount I need? Thanks for the help

KFI SE45 and KFI mount are great for me, no flex ... strong winch. I use a snatch block makes it a lot easier on the winch and battery.

Ok, I have the cycle country winch mount and a 4000lb warn winch that I'm gonna attempt to install this weekend. I've been planning on getting a cycle country plow but now I been looking at the eagle plows. Anyone know if the cycle country winch mount will work with the eagle plows?

Not sure, Most tend to stick with the same manufacture to make sure it works.
Hate to get it and it not fit.

Has anyone used the cycle country winch mount with a warn winch? If so did you have to drill new holes to mount the winch to the mount?

Yes. The cycle country winch mount has the standard winch holes found on warn winches.

I was looking at there winch mount guide. I see there are two different size of warn patterns. So, depending on the winch I guess it could and could not.

Wonder why they just didn't pre-drill the standard universal layout?

Nope not mounted, the cycle country bracket won't work with the warn 4000 vantage at all. Winch doesn't hang low enough to put the ears of the bracket over the bumper. Guess I'll be needing a new mount.....

Kfi has the 4000lb warn vantage listed . So guess it will be a few more days before I get it hooked up.

New mount should be here Friday, this time I made sure to order the right one! Lol also ordered a 66" eagle plow assembly. With my mechanical skills I should have everything hooked up and working by spring! Lol
