I recently purchased a 2018 pioneer 1K5 deluxe and was curious what changes has Honda done from the 2016 model if any? I tried searching the forum and couldn't really come up with anything.

3 things i can recall.
1- heat shield under seat.
2- air deflector under the hood
3- clutch cover up date for more oil flow.

Here are the things I can think of:

Air intake under hood (mid 17)
Ground strap from engine to underhood for winch (2017)
Radiator Air deflector (mid 17)
Under seat heat shield (2017 and again for the product improvement campaign)
Seat cushion (2017)
Seat belt speed limiter (2017)
Elbow guards in the front and rear roll cage (2017)
Trailer hitch gussets and single pin hitch (2017)
Gear shift memory (2017)
Clutch oil flow (2017 and product improvement campaign)
Underdash storage (Factory LE or honda accessory)

I believe that is all the noticeable changes made.

I looked over an 18 and 17 side by side at the dealer recently and couldn't find anything new on the initial 2018 model. I like all the 17 changes except the elbow guards are something I wouldn't really want from a 17 on a 16.

I don't think any of the changes mentioned would have swayed me either way in a 17 or 18. My dealer only had 18s on the lot anyway and they were priced better than left over 17s around here. I would have never of guessed that the smaller dealer I bought mine at would beat the big time dealers as much as he did and I even got to deal with the owner directly.

I see you're from Mo. What dealer you buy from?
