My twins are really wanting ATVs... Any experience with them here? I’m looking at the new Polaris outlaw 70. Efi and headlights. Looks nice.

I am also thinking about getting one soon for my kid. Mostlikley a Chineese one.
I bought my son a TaoTao 125 a few years ago and it’s really been a good wheeler. I’ll probably upgrade him to a Recon when he’s a little older.

We had a Tao until last year when the kids blew the engine up. I bought it used for $300 and had it for 8 years before it died. That thing was a beast, my kids beat the day lights out of it, plus every other kid in camp did too. I will buy another one this year just a 90 instead of the 50, my youngest still needs something to ride around, plus the adults have as much fun on it as the kids.

I bought an outlaw 70 carb model for my daughter about 6 years ago. Not a bad machine. The headlight sucks and the little battery is only good for a year or so but electric start and reverse is nice to have. It's so wide that I don't know if you can even roll it. I tried a couple of times to 2 wheel it and I was going to have to get real stupid to try to get it over and quit. I also probably need to sale it. Hasn't been drove in a year or so. Pink/White model.

I was lucky to know a guy selling Yamaha Grizzly 125. Electric start but carbureted. It governs with a nut on the throttle lever. It's a great size for a wide range of riders.

We bought a Chinese 50 13 years ago and kids still ride it some. It’s gone through so many kids growing up it’s not funny. (The occasional idiot adult too lol)
The 50cc was a direct copy of the Honda engine and never failed. My daughter got on it at about a year half old and it was extremely helpful to learn with the remote start/stop. Got it for under 600$ and I’d believe most higher brands would lose that in value or taxes so absolutely no regrets.
Still a big fan of starting kids on a dirt bike but not that young and learning throttle control ahead of time worked well. It really had some good features.

Most of the kid sized quad/SxSs are made in China or Taiwan, regardless of the brand. As @1HasBeen mentioned about Polaris, they are made in Taiwan, along with Can-Am, Kawasaki, Arctic Cat, etc.

We started lil' 906UP out on a 50cc Scrambler when she was 5 or 6, after a few months she started getting bored so I removed the restrictors in the intake & exhaust, rejetted the cab and took the limiter out of the primary clutch. It really made it sing. She could pop the front end up about 6" off the ground on take off and carry a wheelie about 10 feet.....Mrs 906UP was not as impressed as we were :D

Shouldn't be hard to find a couple good used ones. Most of them don't get ridden much and kids grow out of them. I had a chinese 110 for my daughter for a couple years. Bought it from a friend used for $250, she rode it for a couple years, and then I sold it for $300. Unless you're made of money, I'd shop around for used. I don't know how big your kids are, but you can find used Honda Recons or Suzuki Ozarks for $900-$1000. I bought my daughter a Polaris Trailboss 325 a couple years ago to replace the chinese quad and it's a total piece of junk money pit. They would be an awesome machine for a kid if something didn't break every day. I flipped a Honda TRX125 last year. They are really nice little quads that will easily haul an adult around. No suspension though...

Maybe look into a little motorcycle also. We just bought my 5 year old a Honda 50. Awesome little bike and he can not get enough of riding it. One of the best purchases we have made. Not only for him but we love watching him ride and progress.

I ordered them each a razor dirt quad 500. I think I was trying to rush them into something they are not ready for. The electric ones will be enough for a couple of years. Heck they still have training wheels on their bikes... lol...
The 500 is the bigger more powerful one. Here is a comparison with the smaller one.

My 9 year old has a 2019 outlaw 110, took it on a 50 mile ride last weekend. Its EFI which made a big selling point for me. No messing around with cleaning carbs or netting anymore. I’m trading my 6 year olds 2019 outlaw 50 in on a new outlaw 70 next week mainly because it’s EFI.

F WALMART!!!!! First they can’t tell me anything about my order being late. Then yellow freight completely lost my quads...Now there are no more available in the world evidently... After I bought two upgraded battery packs online for 300 bucks. So I ordered two taotao e1 500s. Same batteries, and I’m pretty sure they have the same electric system. But they have front suspension, headlights, and front brakes. Cheaper too! We will see what happens!

Supposedly about an hour or 9 miles. 33% longer with upgraded batteries I have. They change out quickly too, so I might get a third set if they ride a lot.
