I'm having issues with the transmission on my 1000-5. I got stuck in the mud yesterday, and once i got out, I noticed that the machine will rev to about 2k before it will move. (Forward and reverse, in Low and high) Occasionally when shifting gears it will rev high before engaging as well. Does this sound like a clutch issue?

i have about 2k for miles

Sounds like you burnt up the #1 clutch.

You could try to perform a relearn on the transmission, it may help but probably some shop time for your pioneer.

I'm not having any problems with my transmission or clutch but what's the cost in having them replaced?
I’m not sure what the shop rate is but @CumminsPusher did a good write up on it awhile back.

I don't know why he would. I don't ever remember even talking to him.i tried to get in touch with him a while back because I had a few questions about something I don't remember what it was and that's when I noticed that he must have blocked me or something

I think he has me blocked or something because I cant see any off his post?
s*** man I don’t know what happened. Tripb contacted me earlier and I looked it up thought you blocked me. Looked more into it and apparently I accidentally blocked you. Absolute mistake I promise. At any rate it’s been reversed and I apologize!

Ya it’s burnt. Shift to second and then punch it. If 2,4,6 don’t slip then it’s almost a for sure on clutch pack. Even gears are very uncommon to burn however I’ve had it happen in the past.

Boy, glad I have a belt drive right now.
I was 750 in parts for our Yamaha Wolverine belt setup and got good deal on parts, did the work myself. Honda would cost 200 for clutches and I can do it in half the time about 45 min, but still no issues with that, even after pulling 6 Jeep’s/trucks and multiple loaded trailers through the woods. Idk…to each their but I prefer not having a rubber band drive Sxs. I’ll agree sometimes a problem can occur with anything.

If I burned up a belt within the next 10 years, Yamaha will pay for it and it won't cost me a dime.

Ya but it’s still a belt system. Some people like that stuff.
