Too small, you should be looking at a 4500. These things are heavy

I have always believed bigger is better when it comes to winches. (not the female kind).
However, My dealer installed a 3500# winch when I asked for 4500#. I pointed it out and his reply was, "If it ever fails to pull you out we will replace it free". He went on to tell me they have never installed a 4500# winch because it is not necessary.

So, with that in mind I have a 3500# winch and I have used it 4 times. It hasn't even acted like it was straining. (shrugging my shoulders)

AND, I have the winch shown on my Foreman. It has also been used about 4 times.

I want to say that I would still rather have the 4500# winch, but I can't prove that I need it.

If I could get the 4500# model from Superwinch for less than $10 more, I'd do it.

I know it is 1396lb just the machine me my wife and son it would be roughly 1796 lets just say 1800 that leaves 1700lb worth of stuck... I'm not against 4500lb winch just my budget the venom 3500 also comes with the mounting bracket for the pioneer also for $10 less than the 4500 don't get me wrong I would love to have the piece of mind of it but the 3500 will beat trying to cut limbs or walking

With mine i've not just used it to pull myself out. I've had to pull other people out from 30-40 feet away also had to use it to pull jeep, and to try to pull a lening tree down btw my 4500# couldn't pull the tree over. If you have to pull from a longer distance a winch losses a lot of pull strength. It's not 3500-4500 from 50 foot away it's more like 1/3rd to 1/2.. Get what you can afford tho. Any winch is better than no winch.

I've had a 2500# on my rancher since it was new I've used it a lot as far as pulling junk vehicles logs and such only recovering itself like 3 times. I had a snatch block that was rated at 3500# and I broke it last summer while pulling a log, I've also in the past been known to tie the machine to a tree with a strap because it wouldn't bite to pull what wanted to and the winch never stalled... I know the pioneer is way way heavier for the price I figure I can double with snatch block if the occasion arose.

I guess worse case scenario I'll have a $196 winch bracket selanoid and spare cable if I granade the planetary or $257 and be able to break all kinds of snatch blocks(which would relieve stress instead of cause it) I believe yall have steered me in a better direction thank u.
