I'd pay that in a heart beat , these are very hard to come by in this condition. I have seen some in alot worse condition, go for $1,500-$2000........I guess it depends on how badly you want one !

I've seen them fetch hefty prices as well for good shaped ones, and I've seen basket case ones sell fairly cheap.
I think it has a lot to do with some us just reaching an age where we want to relive our childhoods lol

Seems a little high but it's a lot easier to come down than it is to go up!

I had one of those and they were nice.

It’s sharp. My first wasn’t a Honda, a Yamaha Trial 80. Not common but it rode great!

Nostalgia is a big thing, but I don't really have any for 3 wheelers myself, so id rather put that on a 1st gen rubicon or Kodiak. It IS clean as hell, though...

Now...if I were to come across an 86 500 Interceptor in that shape...

I had a 1984 200x and it was my first off road bike. There will always be a place in my heart for these bikes.

I was getting married (1987) and I had to sell a few things , to help pay for the wedding. I sold the 200x and a 1977 Mustang II I had. I told myself , I will just buy another one some day. 31 years later and I still don't have one........lol

I had a 200x back in the day also, darn thing was nearly bullet proof. My old landlord called it "the cycle of death". Can't say I'd throw down 3k for one as I think I may have paid $500 for mine when I bought it used

Offer that guy 2 grand...He's not getting 3 grand for it.... Its obvious you need one... and you are not getting another one like this again.... I had 2 of these critters and they both needed rings badly... I can still remember the smoke trails I would leave in my uncles hay fields...
