I am looking at a 2016 deluxe with 140 hours / 1200 mi
Facebook Marketplace: 2016 Honda Pioneer 1000-5 Deluxe - Cars, Trucks & Motorcycles - Bullhead City, Arizona

He is asking 13,500
I am just wondering if it is worth spending the extra 4-5k on a 2020

Are there any huge differences in the two that should sway my decision?

Top/ Roof is $562 new usually you can get 10% off with new purchase from dealer that is $502

The rack on the back is probably close to $500 new and the ad did mention that it was close to needing new tires so your'll need to factor that in but really even if you buy new you are probably going to want to upgrade the tires as the stock ones are a starter tire. (get holes easly)

Ok, I think you guys have helped me decide to go new, now my question is are there any major differences in the 2018, 2019, and 2020 machines? The dealer has all 3, Id like to go with a 2019 or 2018 for the cheaper pricing but not if there are any major advantages of the 2020

Assuming all of the factory upgrades have been done and recent service, that's actually not a bad price in my opinion for an AZ unit, if it comes with the spare.
I see factory take off wheels & tires on Craigslist all the time for about $100 each.
The winch is $350+ depending on brand, the light bar anywhere from $150 - $600 again based on brand.
Gas can & mount is over $100

I'd offer him $11,500 - $12,000 with everything included except cooler, he'll probably want to keep that but if it is included that's also worth $200, plus the tool box. I'd go with whatever he comes back with even the full offer. If it were me.

Last I checked you can get last years model for like $12,500 if any left, but then you have to pay sales tax plus fess easily another $2,000 then you still have to get the roof and a spare, street legal kit and all the other add-on's you would personally want. My friends that have bought new have all paid around $18,500 out the door with roof and street legal kit, (not with Fox shocks and not last years model).

Let us know what you do, I'm in Chandler we can go ride when you get it.

There is no difference in those years that matters at all.

Good deal & good luck.

I would advise if you do buy new to absolutely get the Fox shock option. Some of these AZ mountain rides will absolutely beat you to death. I regret not getting that option. Maybe you can still find a 2019 model with that package and still save a few bucks. If you don’t like the color still buy it, plastic panels are cheap so easy to change colors.

Let us know with pictures what you get 😊

Also for the price difference I would not get the hard roof just the fiber/cloth. We just don’t have enough rain here for it to matter, the fiber roof makes it a lot quieter while riding as it doesn’t radiate sound. Unless of course you just have to have the best 😜

If you get an '17-'19 model new or used, have the cooling fan ECM flash checked, it's free from any dealer until the emissions warranty runs out. Honestly its should be free regardless, it takes longer for it to process than it does to set-up.
