Colorado OHV tag is neededI plan on meeting everyone at Lake City for the Alpine loops ride. Is there any details I need to be aware of without having to reread this whole thread?

Not all of the cpw places have the stickers. You're better off hitting up sporting goods or power sports shops.According to CPW, the answer is yes. You will need to purchase a $25 OHV sticker even f your machine is liscensed elsewhere. Greedy bastards...
if coming through Montrose, stop at the CPW there. Phone number is 970-252-6000
If coming through Gunnison, their number is 970-641-7060
Or also in Gunnison if coming through on a weekend there’s Gene Taylor’s Sporting Goods- 970-641-1845
Hours Monday-Saturday 8am-6pm and on Sunday 9-4

That’s great riding, about an hour from me....The wife and I will be hauling our Talon to the Angel Fire/Red River/Taos area the last week of August. We'll be staying with friends at their cabin in Valle Escondido (a bit west on the Enchanted Circle, Hwy 64, from Angel Fire). There's some scenic riding to be had on mountain trails surrounding the valley there. We'll spend at least a day riding trails above Red River too. We have trailered our Grizzlies there in the past and enjoy the ride up to and around Greenie Peak (3-4 miles north of Red River). The Goose Lake trail can be exciting too, with a particularly beautiful termination at (you guessed it) Goose Lake. This high lake sits just north over the peaks from the Taos Ski Basin. But, to get to the ski area from Goose Lake is a hike, as there is no motorized vehicle traffic allowed beyond the lake.
This will be our first time there with a side-by-side.
