Just finished my first round of mods to our 2021, 1000-5. New to the SxS world, but loving this Pioneer. Studied up on some other posts for basic dual battery setup and LED lights. Had to install some speakers and stereo, why not??! Took it out for it's first camping/river trip last weekend, tons of fun. Great machine! Next, will be working on decals and water proofing the machine for some river thrashing. Any suggestions for this process?

That’s one of the cleanest looking dual battery setups I have saw. Can you provide me with what you have there. I am a rookie at this so need some help! Thanks. I am also working on a new 2021 1000-5. No significant upgrades yet but wanting the duel battery to get started. Thanks.

Can't take credit for any of it. Got the majority of the dual battery install parts from this gentleman's video. He has listed them in the information tab for the video. Very detailed and great tool for anyone installing dual battery. I believe there are 100's of threads about this process with all sorts of ways to do it on the Honda SxS forums. I know, because I read most of them before trying it. This video however explains it the best.

Welcome from South FL!

Nice ride!!

If you're playing in water, first thing is to extend your vent lines, snorkel is a good thing also. If you want double check all your plugged connections and/or add some dialectic grease or similar to them. Snorkel or not, make sure all the connections for the intake are tight, some people have found loose sections.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the grease and fitting tips, definitely going to extend the vent lines. Found some great ideas for that on the forums. The snorkel however I'm still debating, is it really necessary for thrashing in 1-3 feet of water? Most I've seen come up through the passenger side cup holder which I'm not the biggest fan of getting rid of my passenger's beer can holder permanently, lol, but seriously.

To me, the snorkel is another one of those good insurance mods. I play in the water a bit, I don't go scuba diving with it but ya never know when someone else rode by in a lifted buggy with 35s and made a rut you can't see under water 🤷‍♂️ .
I did a DIY snorkel and came out that passenger cup holder like tou mentioned, but I got a switch plate with 2 big cup holders to make up for it also. There are quite a few other ways of snorkeling it though, don't just get hung up on the cup holder idea. As far as being necessary for 1'-3' of water, maybe not (if you can see crystal clear to the bottom) but why chance it for a $20-$30 mod and a hr or two of your time. These things ain't cheap and they don't deal with water too well.

Snorkel, and vent lines for gas tank and diffs. I ran mine just behind the bench seat above air filter, never had water in there again
