A 26' tire will rub really bad, and you will need a ladder to access your cab. It's your machine, so by all means do as you wish, just adding my $.02. ;)

Thanks ill probley stay stock but just go with some Terribite radials I do mostly road travel.
Most of the guys I've seen on here do 26x9-12 at all four corners get matching rims with a wider offset and then add a 1" spacer at the rear.

I just started with 26x9x12 on 5+2 offset rims with 1" spacers and its the way to go. I ran stock rims for two years and am now wondering why I didn't do this before.

Yes but it's going to be tippy without spacers or offset wheels.
What sized spacers would you recommend with the stock wheels? I am just about ready to press the button on a set of Traxion Gripper MAX and don't know if I should go 26x9-12 all around or just increase a bit to 25x8-12 on the front and 25x10-12 on the rear.
I use it mainly on crappy gravel roads, abandoned logging roads, and for ploughing and ice fishing in the winter. I am also considering chains on all corners for the winter Maxx Diamond ATV Tire Chains
It has been a long, hard winter and the fruit on my money tree is a little shriveled; spacers and wheels will dip into the harvest and I would like to avoid that expense if possible.

If you ride roads I’d go with KENDA HTRS in 25/8/12 and 25/10/12. They are a true 26” sized, less expensive, wear very well and are smooth riding.

You could get away with one inch on the front or all four for that matter. If you're looking for even track width, get 1.5" for the rear. It'll be much more stable and a better riding experience. 26's on stock wheels and no spacers is a pucker fest.

Thanks for the suggestion however I have pretty well set my mind on the Traxion Gripper Max for a few reasons:
1) They are 28% lower in price. (We have limited options in Canada)
2) The pre-sale service that I received from both the company and the dealer (ATV Tires Canada) was exceptional.
3) The 8-ply radial construction appears to be more robust than that of most popular tires.
4) Although not manufactured in Canada they are made for a Canadian company.

What are the largest (tallest) tires you can run without any modifications?

When people say they will rub without spacers what does that mean exactly? Rub when you turn it when you bottom suspension out. Just bought a 500 myself and am gonna change tires. I would like to stay with stock rims and was looking at 26x9x12 for front ame 26x11x12 rear. To my untrained eye it looks like they would fit. I understand the increased roll factor but I have a quad for the trails. This is for tooling around on the roads up north and working around the property mainly. On the rare occasion the wife and kids want to ride I would like it to still be able to fit down the restricted trails.

Also use to move boats in northern Canada that are to narrow to get a truck down and usually muddy ruts which is why I want a fatter tire that gives me more clearance without increasing width.

No rub here with 27s, no spacers. 9 wide front, 11 wide rears. Great traction. Consider adding the Torq Master locker for best traction results with the P500.

If you are referring to my comment, look closely and you will see I was teasing that guy about 26’ vs 26”. A 26” tire will not rub. I run 26x9-12’s on my P500. My comment was sarcasm, stating that a 26’ (26 foot) tire will likely rub.
